Legacy of loving care: Established seven decades ago, the Tiruvalla Medical Mission (TMM) has a rich legacy of loving care to those who seek its services. Begun as a small 6-bed clinic in 1931, today TMM has become a leading multi-speciality health care and training centre in central Kerala.

Mission with a difference: The mission of TMM is based on solid spiritual foundation : TMM exists to  share the compassion of Christ with the sick by offering affordable but up-to-date healthcare services leading to wholesome healing and hope.

Healthcare services: The multi-speciality TMM hospital has a 300-bed in-patient facility which
is almost always occupied. And on an average 500 patients are treated at  the out-patient facility. TMM offers medical and other services in  almost  every branch of human health required.

Training services: TMM is renowned for its paramedical training courses. The School of Nursing is one of the finest in India, with its graduates  excelling in their skills and services, world over. The Nurses Alumni Association has a  current membership of over 1000.   The 2-year Lab Tech School is a well recognised professional course. The latest is the College of Nursing which offers BSc.N degree for the nurses.

 Community development projects: TMM has several community health development programmes. It includes village visits by mobile medical teams, conducting of health awareness
campaigns, and  better family planning promotion programmes.

Free Treatment: TMM invests a substantial portion of its resources for free or subsidised treatment of the economically weak patients, evangelists, staff and their immediate relatives. During the past five years TMM has spent over Rs.12 million (US $ 2.5 million) for the same.

Spiritual ministries: True to its vision, TMM has an active spiritual ministry.  Every day an evangelist visits the rooms and comforts the patients through the Word of God. They also share the Gospel at the out-patient lounge, and preach the Word twice daily through the public address system. Spiritual songs and  messages are relayed continuously. A full- fledged local Assembly functions  at the hospital. Regular Gospel conventions are also held at the premises. Because of this ministry, over the years, several have become disciples of  Christ, and another local assembly was also established nearby.

Vision Ahead: TMM cannot afford to rest on its laurels. Times are changing. Technologies
are improving. And opportunities are calling. To stay ahead in this challenging healthcare field and impact the society for Christ, the hospital has to be urgently expanded and modernised. With religious fundamentalism on the rise in India, medical mission is a very promising field for the expansion of God's kingdom.

Infrastructure development: The most immediate need is construction of new facilities to improve the infrastructure. The First Phase is construction of the Outpatient Block, College of Nursing
and Ladies Hostel Buildings.

Equipment: When the world is fast moving toward new high-tech medical equipments for both diagnosis and treatment, TMM has to keep pace with. A number of modern equipments are urgently required, including C.T scan, Echo-Cardiogram,

Partnership: As labourers together in the Lord, TMM can grow only with the partnership of the Lord's people from around the world.
